The Geological Patisserie
This collection is a study in material paradox! By transforming original stone—a symbol of permanence, and geological time—into the light, tempting forms of cupcakes, eclairs, and tarts, I invite the viewer to question perception and value.
The use of stone emphasizes the irony of permanence: the fleeting pleasure of a dessert is captured forever in a material that has existed for millennia.
Arranged whimsically on a contemporary serving tray, these geological treats become a durable, non-consumable offering, forcing a closer look at the intricate textures and careful construction that mimic soft frosting and moist cake.
This work is a celebration of both the delicate art of the baker and the enduring nature of the earth. In other words: lavish, beautiful display of pleasure that is, ironically, made to last forever and untouchable at the same time!
